Plastic Die Cutting

At Atlantic Gasket Corporation, we use precision die cutting equipment to cut all thin film plastics from .001” thk. up to .062” thk. and utilize water jet and laser capabilities to cut most plastics up to 1” thk. Our most popular plastic materials are available from stock and include Polycarbonate (Lexan^®), Polyester films (Mylar^®), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Acetal, Teflon, and Polyethylene Terephthalate-glycol (PETG).

Typical Applications:

• Insulators cut from Mylar^™

• Face plates cut from Polycarbonate used on electronic instruments

• Spacers and shims

Most of the thinner plastics with adhesive backing can be supplied “kiss-cut” on rolls. Custom die cut plastic parts can often be supplied with a crease line that will allow the part to be folded in the exact place each and every time or with perforations that also aid in the bending/forming process. Based on your design, we can die cut internal cutouts such as round holes, oval slots, rectangular/square cutouts, or any shape imaginable. Parts can be cut as small as 1/16” dia. to as large as a 36” square or any size and shape in between. We can supply parts with an adhesive backing on one or both sides or without an adhesive backing.

While many of our competitors require expensive tooling to die cut plastic parts, our 70 years plus of combined tooling design experience allows us to fabricate most custom plastic die cut parts using inexpensive steel rule dies, which in turn can save our customers thousands of dollars in tooling costs and several weeks in delivery time.
