| As a leading gasket manufacturer,
Atlantic Gasket utilizes a variety of foam and sponge materials
to manufacture custom gaskets as small as .062 dia. and as
large as 36 square as well as any size or shape in between.
Gaskets can be supplied with internal cutouts including round holes,
oval slots, square holes, etc. and any type of outside configuration
imaginable. In addition, our foam and sponge gasket materials can
be slit to your exact requirement and supplied in rolls. We welcome
the opportunity to help you determine the optimal gasket design
for your application at minimum cost. Read on or call Atlantic

Custom Foam and Sponge Gaskets
Can Be Produced
from the Following Materials:
Neoprene offers good resistance to acid, alkali,
gasoline, and oil. Neoprene can be supplied in 9 and 16# densities.
EPDM offers excellent ozone resistance and
performs well in applications where temperatures can range from
-90 to 275°F. EPDM can be supplied in 12 and 16# densities.
Nitrile offers excellent fuel resistance and
excellent UV resistance and performs well in applications where
temperatures can range from 40 to +200°F. Nitrile is supplied
in 14# density.
ECH (Epichlorohydrin) offers excellent fuel
resistance and performs well in applications where temperatures
can range from 70 to +275°F. ECH is supplied in 15# density.
Silicone offers excellent sealing qualities,
plus compression set, flame, ozone, and UV resistances. This high-end
material is widely used for demanding applications and is excellent
for applications that will be exposed to extreme temperatures ranging
from 103 to 450°F. Our Silicone material is available
from soft to extra firm densities in orange/red, black, gray, and
white colors.
Neoprene/ EPDM/ SBR blend offers excellent
resistance to acid, alkali, ozone, and oxidation. This blend can
be supplied in 6 and 9# densities and performs well in applications
where temperatures can range from 40 to +200°F.
PVC/ Nitrile blend offers excellent resistance
to acid, gasoline, oil, and ozone. This blend can be supplied in
4, 5, 6, 7, and 13# densities and performs well in applications
where temperatures can range from 40 to +160°F.
Neoprene/ PVC/ Nitrile blend offers good chemical
resistance and is fire-rated. This blend can be supplied in 4, 6,
and 8# densities and performs well in applications where temperatures
can range from 40 to +200°F.
EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) offers excellent
resistance to acid, alkali, ozone, and ketones. This blend can be
supplied in 2, 4, and 8# densities and performs well in applications
where temperatures can range from 70 to +160°F.
Natural Rubber open cell sponge is excellent
for cushioning applications as well as applications that require
a skid resistant surface. The major advantage of this material is
that it does not take a compression set. This material is available
in soft, medium, medium/firm, firm, and extra firm grades.
Neoprene Rubber open cell sponge has all the
same features of the natural open cell sponge, but, in addition,
it works well in applications that will come in contact with petroleum-based
products. This material also meets various military and ASTM specifications
including Mil-R-6130, Mil-C-3133, and Mil STD 670 and is available
in soft, medium, and medium/firm grades.
Polyurethane Foam is an UL94-recognized foam
designed for dust seals, spacers, and cushioning applications. It
is available in 2, 4, and 6# densities and in Polyether and Polyester
formulations. Standard color is charcoal gray with special colors
available upon request.
Cross-linked Polyethylene offers good mechanical
properties, good thermal insulation, excellent chemical resistance,
and low water absorption. Available in white and black, cross-linked
polyethylene has a smooth skin and can be supplied in 2, 4, and
6# densities.
PVC Foam is conformable, UV resistant, and
strong. PVCs are widely used to seal out air, moisture, light,
and dust. This foam is available in 6 to 15# densities in both black
and gray colors and is relatively inexpensive.
Atlantic takes pride in being one of the pioneers
in working with pressure sensitive adhesives. We currently stock
Rubber-based, Acrylic-based, and Silicone-based Adhesives systems
in both supported and unsupported constructions and can apply these
adhesives to all the above materials. Please click

constructions and also learn why the benefits of one adhesive may
outweigh those of another for your application.
