3M Silicone Adhesive Family

The Silicone Adhesive family from 3M is an acrylic adhesive that has a short-term temperature resistance to 500° for specific products and an overall temperature range that varies depending on the item. It’s reliably resistance to solvents and performs well with damping. The 3M Silicone Adhesive family provides a great bond to different silicone rubbers and foams.

The Silicone Adhesive family can be provided in rolls up to 38” and 48” depending on the product and slit down to widths of your specific needs like the Electrically Conductive and Thermally Conductive families. It can also be laminated to our materials and then die cut, kiss cut, and water jet cut into parts or strips of your necessity. These products include closed cell sponge, open cell sponge, mechanical rubber (such as neoprene, EPDM, Nitrile/Buna-N), corks, cork rubbers, and many plastic materials.

The Silicone Adhesive family can be found in the following products from 3M:

3M ADHESIVE TRANSFER TAPES

3M 91022 (2 Mil Silicone Adhesive) The Silicone Adhesive 91022 is a 2 mil silicone adhesive that is ideal for attaching silicone material and has one liner for easier handling and processing. 3M 9731 comes in rolls up to 48” wide and has an overall temperature range of -60° to 500°.

3M DOUBLE COATED TAPES

3M 9731 (5.5 Mil Silicone Adhesive) The Silicone Adhesive 91022 is a 5.5 mil silicone adhesive that is a differential adhesive that works perfectly in the attachment of silicone to materials with a low surface energy (LSE) and high surface energy (HSE). 3M 9731 comes in rolls up to 48” wide and has an overall temperature range of -40° to 300°.
3M 96042 (5 Mil Silicone Adhesive) The Silicone Adhesive 96042 is a 5 mil silicone adhesive that is ideal for attaching silicone material and has one liner for easier handling and processing. 3M 9731 comes in rolls up to 48” wide and has an overall temperature range of -40° to 350°.

3M DIFFERENTIAL DOUBLE COATED TAPES

3M 9731 (5.5 Mil Silicone Adhesive) The Silicone Adhesive 9731 is a 5.5 mil silicone adhesive that has a differential adhesive-silicone adhesive on the back side. It specializes in being used in the refurbishment of printer toner cartridges and the attachment of silicone keypads. 3M 9731 comes in rolls up to 38” wide and has an overall temperature range of -40° to 250°.
