Atlantic Gasket Increases Productivity in a Flash

Atlantic Gasket has done it again and added a new, state-of-the-art machine that will increase the capacity, production, and quality of our custom-cut parts!  The Flashcut Flex will allow for a higher flow of parts to be produced on our production line leading to shorter lead times and increased productivity in general.  Just last year, we added a new slitting machine, and custom-cutting is taking a turn in 2021.  Overall, Atlantic Gasket continues to upgrade year after year!

The Flashcut Flex knife-cutter’s first benefit is its speed.  Its blades slice right through any material that we cut, and no tooling is required to purchase; our customers can send over a file and have parts being cut within minutes.  In addition to the speed, this new machine nests parts together like no other to allow for the best material yield possible.  The combination of speed and optimization lead to lower costs for our customers!

Finally, the Flashcut Flex improves the already-fantastic quality and reliability of our production.  Its table surface has an intense vacuum that holds the sheet and roll materials steadfast producing a very fine and accurate cut that can meet necessary tolerances.  The knife-cutter will provide an overall greater reliability to our production line due to a brand-new machine with high-quality technology.

Atlantic Gasket Increases Slitting Capabilities

Atlantic Gasket has spent decades slitting and stripping a wide array of materials to our customer’s needs from ¼” to 60” wide, but now, we’ve added a new slitting machine to our fleet which further increases our capacity for orders requiring slitting of any kind.  We’re always looking into how we can make our manufacturing process more efficient, and this addition is just the latest in that search.  Our new single-knife slitter, from Lever, allows us to cut larger roll diameters and perform a cleaner cut.  The ability for us to continue to provide exceptional non-metallic roll goods just got better!

This new slitting machine allows us to continue cutting the same materials that we have been cutting for years to a much higher capacity, such as rubber, sponge, foam, adhesives/tapes, plastics/films, cork, and more.  Our slitting capabilities were already versatile and of high-quality, but our new machine just broadens the horizon and allows for more perfect cuts and the ability for quicker lead times to get stripping products into our valued customer’s hands.

If you have any project, regardless of how complicated you think it may be, give Atlantic Gasket a call at 800-229-8881 or 215-533-6400 and ask to speak to a member of our sales team or email us at sales@atlanticgasket.com.

Fly, Phoenix Fly!

The year is 2018 and manufacturers are facing new demands and challenges.  With an increasing demand for same-day turnaround slitting and roll production, Atlantic Gasket had a problem on their hands:

How do we slit and rewind rolls at a faster and more efficient rate?

How can we keep up with our overwhelming volume of orders and still ship finished products out on time?

Well an answer did come, and it was in the form of a new Model 625C Phoenix!  This state-of-the-art duplex slitter/rewinder offers the ability to score or shear slit rolls from ½” minimum to 54” maximum.  With speeds up to 250 feet per minute, the Model 625C has been designed for simplicity of operation.  The Phoenix can handle master rolls up to 1,000 lbs. and 30” in diameter.

It is used to slit a wide range of materials, including:

  • Mechanical Rubber
  • Sponge & Foam
  • Films & Fibers
  • Cork & Cork-Rubber
  • PSA-Backed Materials
  • Non-Wovens

This extremely flexible precision machine is at the forefront of slitter technology, and raises Atlantic Gasket’s capabilities and stamina through the roof!  I sat down with Atlantic Gasket’s president Harry Cann to discuss the advancements and productivity made possible with the introduction of the Phoenix…

“You can buy machines all day long – Atlantic’s advantage is what we can do with them” says Harry.  “We’re always looking to expand our capabilities. How can creativity allow us to use our machines to their maximum capability?  What can allow us to be more competitive in the marketplace?”
