Rubber Washers

The majority of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) want to improve the service life and accuracy of their product with custom designed and manufactured rubber washers. Many prefer to use rubber materials for their washers because of rubber's innate flexibility, pliability, and conformability. A leading gasket manufacturing company, Atlantic Gasket Corporation, stocks a wide variety of rubber grades from which we can produce custom rubber die cut washers that precisely match customer's application requirements.

We work with elastomer suppliers to manufacture washers of the highest quality rubber materials. Most rubber grades are available as thin as .016" thick to .250" thick and come in a measure of hardness (durometer) as soft as 30 durometer and as hard as 90 durometer. We provide materials in continuous rolls or cut-to-size for your specific applications. For more information on the many advantages and disadvantages of various rubber elastomers, please view our comparative elastomer chart. With the aid of this chart you can compare elastomers and determine which material is best suited for your application. Or read on for a general summary of Atlantic Gasket's available rubber grades.

Atlantic Gasket can produce rubber washers in the following types of materials:

Silicone Rubber provides excellent properties for both hot and cold temperature extremes. Additionally, silicone rubber takes a low compression set and is resistant to ozone, UV, and fungus.

EPDM Rubber has excellent color stability, heat resistance, as well as dielectric qualities, and provides excellent protection from electricity, ozone, and sunlight degradation.

Neoprene Rubber provides good oil and petroleum base solvent resistance, as well as good weathering and ozone resistance.

Viton® Rubber features excellent resistance to heat, oil, and a broad range of concentrated acids.

Nitrile Rubber has superior elongation properties as well as compression set properties and is highly resistant to petroleum oils, aromatic hydrocarbons, and many acids.

Butyl Rubber has low gas permeability, excellent weathering properties, as well as high dielectric strengths and resists heat, acids, and alkali.

Hypalon Rubber provides excellent resistance to ozone and sunlight aging.

How Atlantic Gasket Meets and Exceeds Your Needs

Want a custom-made rubber washer to insulate screws from surfaces or to prevent galvanic corrosion?
