AG-3597-70 Silver Aluminum Filled Fluorosilicone

Style AG-3597-70 is an electrically-conductive shielding gasket material that is a 70 durometer (Shore A) silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone elastomer which protects electronic equipment and produces shielding against radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). AG-3597-70 silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone meets MIL-G-83528C/MIL-DTL-83528C Type D requirements and is QPL listed. It has a volume resistivity of .0016 ohm/cm with a shielding effectiveness of greater than 90.8 dB.

AG-3597-70 is similar to our other electrically-conductive silver aluminum-filled products that shield against RFI and EMI such as AG-3537-30 (silicone), AG-661-45 (fluorosilicone), AG-3479-65 (silicone), and AG-661-70 Passivated (fluorosilicone). This silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone can be converted into die-cut and water jet cut parts or provided as sheets of different sizes. The sheet sizes available for AG-3597-70 are 15” x 20”, 10” x 20”, 12” x 12”, and 10” x 10”. Continuous rolls at 12” wide are also available in a variety of thicknesses. The QPL listed AG-3597-70 can be provided in a tan or dark blue color.

Data Usual Values

Elongation (160 +/-100) 112%
Tear “C” ppi (35 Min) 52
Specific Gravity (2.00 +/-0.26) 2.19
Volume Resistivity ohm/cm (0.012 max) .0016 ohm/cm
Shielding Effectiveness 20MHZ-10GHZ (E-Field) Greater Than 90.8 dB
Color Dark Blue or Tan
Thermal Stability Range -67°F to 320°F (-55°C to160°C)

The chart below compares the electrically-conductive silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone to other filler materials that act as electromagnetic interference (EMI)/radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding. We offer the silver coated aluminum filler in both silicone and fluorosilicone, and though silicone has a wide temperature range, fluorosilicone protects against harsh environmental factors with its oil and fuel resistance. When compared to other fillers such as silver coated copper, silver coated glass, and nickel coated graphite, silver-coated aluminum is the most conductive with an exceptional volume resistivity.

Filler Conductivity Typical Volume
Resistivity (V.R.)
Cost
Silver Extremely Conductive .0009 ohms/cm Most Expensive
*Silver Coated Aluminum Super Conductive .003 ohms/cm More Expensive*
Silver Coated Copper Super Conductive .001 ohms/cm Expensive
Silver Coated Glass Very Conductive .006 ohms/cm Less Expensive
Nickel Coated Graphite Conductive .01 ohms/cm Least Expensive

The MIL-G-83528 specification table below displays where this electrically-conductive silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone shielding gasket material falls within the spec.
