Style AG-661-70 Passivated is an electrically-conductive shielding gasket material that is a 70 durometer (Shore A) silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone elastomer which protects electronic equipment and produces shielding against radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). The passivated silver aluminum particles increase the resistance to corrosion of the material.
AG-661-70 Passivated silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone is designed to meet MIL-G-83528C/MIL-DTL-83528C Type D requirements. It has a shielding effectiveness of 90 dB at 10 GHz and a catalyzed shelf life of six months or longer if stored in a cold location. The temperature range of this product is -76°F to 320°F (-55°C to 160°C).
AG-661-70 Passivated is similar to our other electrically-conductive silver aluminum-filled products that shield against RFI and EMI such as AG-3537-30 (silicone), AG-3597-70 (fluorosilicone), AG-3479-65 (silicone), and AG-661-45 (Fluorosilicone). This silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone can be converted into die-cut and water jet cut parts or provided as sheets of different sizes. The sheet sizes available for AG-661-70 Passivated are 15” x 20”, 10” x 20”, 12” x 12”, and 10” x 10”. Continuous rolls at 12” wide are also available in a variety of thicknesses.
The chart below compares the electrically-conductive silver aluminum-filled fluorosilicone to other filler materials that act as electromagnetic interference (EMI)/radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding. We offer the silver coated aluminum filler in both silicone and fluorosilicone, and though silicone has a wide temperature range, fluorosilicone protects against harsh environmental factors with its oil and fuel resistance. When compared to other fillers such as silver coated copper, silver coated glass, and nickel coated graphite, silver-coated aluminum is the most conductive with an exceptional volume resistivity.
Filler | Conductivity | Typical Volume Resistivity (V.R.) |
Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Silver | Extremely Conductive | .0009 ohms/cm | Most Expensive |
*Silver Coated Aluminum | Super Conductive | .003 ohms/cm | More Expensive* |
Silver Coated Copper | Super Conductive | .001 ohms/cm | Expensive |
Silver Coated Glass | Very Conductive | .006 ohms/cm | Less Expensive |
Nickel Coated Graphite | Conductive | .01 ohms/cm | Least Expensive |
