Neoprene/EPDM Closed Cell
Sponge Rubber

Our Closed Cell Neoprene / EPDM Sponge Rubber is an excellent general purpose gasket material that can be used in many indoor and outdoor gasketing applications that requires a UL-94- HF-1 or a FMVSS-302 listed material for flammability. This closed cell sponge sealing material works well in applications that will be exposed to sunlight, oxidation, ozone and oils in temperatures as low as -40° F to and as high as 250° F and is available in a soft, medium-soft, medium, firm and extra firm densities. This material is often used as weatherproofing for sealing electronic enclosures and as gaskets and seals for many HVAC, Automotive and Electrical applications.

Is our Neoprene / EPDM closed cell sponge blend ideal for your New or Replacement Gasket Applications? Read on to find out.
  • Do your requirements demand a gasket material that needs to meet an Automotive, UL, Flammability or ASTM specification? If so, our closed cell Neoprene / EPDM sponge meets ASTM-D- 1056-67 & 69 SCE41, SCE42, SCE43, SCE44 and SCE45; ASTM-D-1056-91 & 07 2C1, 2C2, 2C3,2C4 and 2C5; SAE J18-R7/92, UL50E, UL157, UL508 and UL94-HF- 1. It also passes GM6086M, GM4486P and Chrysler MSAY 527 requirements.

  • Are you looking for a general purpose gasket material that is economically priced, offered in a broad range of densities and thicknesses, and can be supplied slit to width in continuous rolls / die-cut or waterjet cut to size? If you answered yes, our Closed Cell Neoprene / EPDM can be supplied as thin as 1/16” up to 2” thick in rolls from 54” wide to as narrow as ¼” or we would be glad to die-cut or waterjet parts to your exact requirements. This material can also be supplied with an Acrylic or Rubber based adhesive on one or both sides.

Please see our material specification sheets for detailed physical properties for each of our five grades of Closed Cell Neoprene / EPDM sponge. The soft density is Style AGSCE41M and has a compression deflection rating of 3.5 psi, Style AGSCE42M has a compression deflection rating of 7 psi, Style AGSCE43M has a compression deflection rating of 11 psi, AGSCE44M has a compression deflection rating of 15 psi and style AGSCE45M has a compression deflection rating of 21 psi. Our technical sales team is always available to answer any questions and to help you determine the best gasketing material for your specific application.
