Closed Cell Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile Sponge Rubber

Closed cell Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile sponge rubber is an economical sealing and gasket material for applications requiring a good resistance to chemicals and conformance with UL 94 flammability ratings. This material blend exhibits the best properties from each individual elastomer and performs well in temperatures ranging from -40° F to +200° F. Atlantic Gasket Corporation is a Philadelphia-based gasket manufacturer that serves customers in a wide variety of industries around the corner and across the world. Closed cell Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile rubber is one of many materials available at Atlantic Gasket for custom and die-cut seals and gaskets used in a diverse range of industrial and commercial applications. Below are some sample gasket and sealing applications in which this material is suitable.

Example Gasket Application Properties
Automotive Applications The combination of these elastomer materials creates a blend that performs well in automotive applications, specifically as tail lamp gaskets or seals.
Electrical Applications The properties of Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile make this sponge rubber gasket and sealing material ideal for electrical enclosures and other electrical sealing applications that require a UL 94 rated gasket material.
HVAC Applications Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile rubber blend works well as a gasket tape or gap seal on duct work for HVAC units and creates an air tight seal in metal-to-metal bonding applications.
Weatherproofing Applications With its closed cell structure, Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile is a suitable weatherproofing gasket and seal material for electrical enclosures exposed to outdoor elements.
Will Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile rubber perform well in your gasket or sealing application? Continue reading to find out.
  • Are the materials in your application required to be fire-rated? If so, this closed cell sponge rubber blend meets flammability ratings, including UL 94 HF-1, UL 94 HBF, and UL 94 VO, which is the most stringent rating under UL 94, as well as FMVSS-302. See the specification sheets to the right to find out the other specifications this rubber gasket and elastomer seal material meets.
  • Would it reduce assembly time if your gaskets and seals were supplied with an adhesive backing? If so, Atlantic Gasket can recommend the best adhesive for your specific application and supply Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile with an adhesive backing on one or both sides.

As an industry leading gasket manufacturer, Atlantic Gasket Corporation offers customers versatility in material selection. Our Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile sponge rubber gasket and seal material is available in three densities: 4pcf (IV1); 6pcf (IV2); and 8pcf (IV3). This closed cell sponge rubber blend is available in rolls 1/16" thick up to 1-1/4" thick and 54" wide by 50' long. Made in continuous rolls without splices, die cut or waterjet cut to size or slit to rolls as narrow as ¼" wide up to 54" wide, Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile gaskets and seals from Atlantic Gasket are custom manufactured to your exact specifications. Contact one of our gasket engineers, and they’ll help you choose the best material for your assembly and end application.
