Typical Properties of Style AGSIFIREM Closed Cell Flame Retardant Medium Density Silicone Sponge

AGSIFIREM is a flame retardant closed cell medium density silicone sponge which is designed for gasket applications requiring a low compression set, a resistance to extreme temperatures, and flammability measures. The flame retardant medium density silicone sponge has a closed cell structure which prevents water absorption of less than 3% per ASTM D1056 and has a smooth surface finish allowing for better sealing and the ability to apply an adhesive. AGSIFIREM meets the UL94HB and FMVSS 302 specifications and is capable of meeting AMS 3195, ASTM D6576 Type II Grade A, and MIL-R-6130 Type II Grade A. It also meets self-extinguishing and UL flammability classification. Atlantic Gasket’s AGSIFIREM silicone sponge endures a temperature range of -100°F (-73°C) to 500°F (260°C) and also has excellent resistance to oxidation, UV, ozone, and weathering.

AGSIFIREM flame retardant medium density silicone sponge, offered by Atlantic Gasket, comes in a variety of widths, thicknesses, and colors (grey, black, red, and white). This silicone sponge is also available in a flame retardant soft density (AGSIFIRES) and flame retardant firm density (AGSIFIREF) along with widths of up to 36” and thicknesses from .062” to .500”. AGSIFIREM has the ability to have a pressure sensitive adhesive laminated to this silicone sponge, and Atlantic Gasket can slit it to widths as narrow as ¼” or as wide as 36”. The silicone sponge can be cut to size for custom parts either using our high-speed die-cutting process or our high-precision waterjet-cutting machine for production quantities and/or prototype requirements.
